Trip Planner: South America / Suriname / Paramaribo District / Paramaribo / Arya Dewaker Hindu Temple
Known as the largest shrine of its kind in the country, Arya Dewaker Hindu Temple sits at the very heart of the city. Designed by Dutch architect Arthur E. de Groot and opened in 2001, the temple serves as the main place of worship for the region's Hindu community. Pay special attention to the intricately carved Om symbols, as well as the Sanskrit and Hindi sentences inscribed on the walls.
