Great to visit the monastery and understand the history that shaped the region and gave it the name Priorat. Nicely restored, you can get a real sense of what life was like for the monks.

You need a car to get here. During our visit, theres a restoration going on. It was less touristy, so we could really enjoy the place. Hope to come back here again once everything is restored and no construction going on. The visit is still worth it.

The location is amazing, right under the Monsant mountain range, so no wonder the Carthusians chose it to place this Monastery. Currently undergoing a slow reconstruction which is questioned by many, it is worth visiting to understand better the culture and the wine economy of the region today. We enjoyed the reconstruction of the cells as they were in Mediaval times. Also worth taking the short walk up to "La Pietat", related to the monastery and offering great views of it.
