Cape Point
Take a tour of Cape Point, a dramatic seaside promontory and part of Table Mountain National Park, known for its scenic landscape and hiking trails. The narrow coastline, discovered in 1488 by Bartholomeu Dias, became famous as the birthplace of the "Flying Dutchman" legend. A bird-watching paradise, the area shelters more than 200 species, including the African penguin, as well as a variety of other creatures like Chacma baboon, fallow deer, whales, and the elusive Cape mountain zebra. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Cape Town holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Cape Point and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

I felt obligated to visit the Cape of Good Hope and was glad that I did. It makes for a nice photography moment and photos are the best souvenirs. Go up to the lighthouse. Walk the trails and enjoy..... more

A legendary place worth the trip. Park admission fee is steep at over R350 per adult but the chance to be there is once in a lifetime for most people so it’s worth it. Lots to see and do and areas to hike and explore including an overnight hiking option that would have been great to know about. Baboons come out in force near sunset so be careful with them.

Cape of good hope, it’s a real tourist attraction, everybody wants a picture at the sign “ most southern point of south Africa” Beautiful coast line so special. Be careful though when you drive through the mountains, it can be very narrow at times especially if a bus is coming from the other side or if you would want to overtake a bus. SAFETY FIRST!!! You can see seals in the sea and on the rocks. For the rest… just enjoy all the views and wind and sun and music of the waves of the sea
