Lumley Beach, Freetown

#2 of 7 in Outdoors in Sierra Leone
Beach · Nature / Park
Managing to retain much of its rustic charm in the face of surrounding development, Lumley Beach is a curving stretch of white sand lined with bars, restaurants, hotels, and clubs. Busy on the weekends, the beach remains relatively quiet on weekdays, which makes it an ideal spot for a quick swim or a relaxed meal at one of the area's many eateries. • Lumley beach is so alive now, the streets are well lit, so many restaurants by the boardwalk, it has really improved a lot, you can enjoy a nice walk, Sierra Leonians are so friendly, its very safe..  more »
  • This is a nice respite to have at the edge of Freetown. Lovely to walk along, a bit too much development happening to threaten the natural environment. I miss the ice cream shops!  more »
