Trip Planner: Africa / Sao Tome and Principe / Sao Tome Island / Morro Peixe / Museu do Mar e da Pesca Artesanal
See the nesting of the region's sea turtles on along the shorline at Museu do Mar e da Pesca Artesanal. One of four different species choose to lay their eggs on this sandy beach, and you can observe the birth of baby turtles here in September and April and learn about the survival of this endangered species. The hope is that vistors will contribute to the protection of the species as they learn about them and their life cycle. Check ahead of time to time your visit; generally baby turtles emerge from the sand around sunset.
