Create an itinerary including Galicia Jewish Museum
Visit Galicia Jewish Museum, a small but modern museum in a culturally rich Jewish quarter, Kazimierz. The exhibits attempt to showcase the vibrant life that the neighborhood was once known for. It was founded in 2004 by photojournalist Chris Schwarz to celebrate the Galicia Jewish population that was decimated in World War II. The central exhibit features a series of photographs called "Traces of Memory" that share the history of the Galicia Jews over 800 years. Three different temporary exhibits rotate through the attraction year-round. The open space, resembling a factory, is popular for events, concerts, film screenings, and lectures. Visit the attraction's website for a current schedule. Both the founder of the museum and the scholar who helped him are British, so all the information is available in English. • The museum exhibits are phenomenal. I took away a star because of the noise. The cafeteria and reception area are right next to the large area of the museum, and there was a lot of clanging, beeps, and talking. It was not only incredibly distracting, but also upsetting. It felt very disrespectful for the museum to be so loud
  • Interesting museum going through the recent history of Jews in Galicia with photographs - the buildings destroyed or left dormant , how they were in their prime, the holocaust and the renewal of this structures Open Mondays - information for the permanent exhibit is in Polish and English, temporary exhibit is currently in Polish but there seemed to be a companion app with English.
