Mudam Luxembourg Modern Art Museum, Luxembourg City

The building itself is reason enough to visit! It's absolutely massive, with high glass ceilings and wide expansive rooms. When it's sunny the interior is lit up beautifully with the glass frame patterns reflected on the floor. The cafe is light and airy with a tree in the middle. It's so refreshing to come to a gallery like this. There is a selective amount of art spread throughout it's three floors with plenty of white space between the works. This means you don't feel visually overwhelmed by how much there is to see. Compared to the opulence of the Palais Grand Ducal—which is stunning but does feel dark, heavy, and cluttered with old paintings—this was a welcomed change. The walk up the hill to the museum is a mini hiking trail, quite steep but the views are rewarding. There is a tram station at the top for easier access. One thing to note is that you will need a euro coin to use a locker (you get it back). The staff were so friendly too! I'd come back in a heartbeat if I visit Luxembourg again!

The building is better than the content of the museum. No real masterpieces seems to be mostly local artist with an exhibition on some Caribbean modern artist. The building is better than the content of the art. The art in and of itself was pretty disappointing. Prostate euro was it really worth it. I would not return if I was never going back to Luxembourg. The architect was the same gentleman that designed the pyramid at the louvre. The architect was certainly more talented than some of the artist on display.
