Covering less than 1 sq km (sq mi), Kisumu Impala Sanctuary represents a small, densely populated holding area for needy animals on the shore of Lake Victoria--Africa's largest freshwater lake. This sanctuary focuses on a small herd of impala but also houses orphaned Masai lions, African leopards, Tanzanian cheetahs, cape buffalos, olive baboons, Sykes' monkeys, hyenas, bushbucks, side-striped jackals, and African grey parrots among others. The site offers important open grazing for hippos, and the swampy area is home to the rare sitatunga antelope. The area features well-maintained 3 km (2 mi) of trails and a selection of scenic picnic spots. Take a glass-bottomed boat ride to the lake to round out your experience. The grounds are lovely. Situated right on the lake, you can enjoy the sparkling blue water while zebras graze freely and monkeys frolic. The captive animals are quite stunning as well and easy to spot. My only criticism is that while most of the habitats were spacious and enhanced with trees and such, some seemed a bit small and lacked shade or greenery.

It's a quiet, calm place to walk around. They have allowed the zebras to roam freely. Amongst the caged animals are, ostrich, Warthog, lions, leopard, monkeys, baboons and many more. The entrance fee is 250 per head for adults. You can also have a boat ride at the park.
