Colobus Conservation remains dedicated to protecting the endangered and very rare Angolan black-and-white colobus monkeys. Found only in very small pockets of forest south of the city, the species survives largely thanks the efforts of this project. Make advanced arrangements for guided walks, or check out the volunteer program if you wish to contribute to the conservation of these animals. • Very interesting & enjoyable. You start with a very well produced & informative video and then take some time to look at the high quality displays. After, a guide takes you out on the grounds to see the animals being rehabilitated. The guide also escorts you on a lovely nature walk that gives you an idea of the natural environment the Conservation is working toward. In addition to the rehabilitating animals, we saw Colobus, Sykes, and many baboons roaming the grounds. Not only is this a great place to visit, it’s a cause worth supporting.
  • Find your way to @colobusconservation whenever you're in Diani!🙌🏾 This is a non-profit conservation organisation meant to promote the conservation, preservation, and protection of primates 🐒. It was set up in 1997 as a response to concerns of the death of many colobus monkeys on Diani beach road. When you visit, you'll be able to see the different monkeys in the site - those roaming freely and come around the space, those in cages being taken care of until they're of age to be released out there to the troops go on a short trail, watch a short video on the primates and the essence of conservation and get a lot of information from the guide about the monkeys e.g that, there are only 5,000 colobus monkeys in Kenya!
