  • One must see this place to understand why Japan is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. This museum is rightly named as the museum of "emerging" science, because the museum showcases a few futuristic ideas and philosophies Japanese researchers are working on (only a few though, but that would give us a hint of what they are capable of). Examples include artificial intelligence, machine learning, android, neural network, advanced medical treatments, genetic treatment, space travel etc. There are exhibits, videos, projects, explanations, and all are so systematically and easily explained that they will attract both the adults and the children. A robot is roaming around observing visitors' movement and collecting data, another robot is copying visitors' movements, another one is dancing, and a robot dog is responding to your actions! Another interesting thing was the exhibition of missing research. There are exhibits on how virtual reality is transcending the boundary between virtuality and reality. Along with this permanent exhibits, there are 3D movies in which the theories of creation of the universe is shown in a fun way. There is not much crowd, and the staffs are very cooperative. Overall, you get more value than the money you spend.
  • A great place to learn science. I brought preschoolers and it was a bit too difficult, it’s obviously for teen and above. Though there are some exhibits that are easy to get like space rockets models and science of social life.
