A triumphal arch located between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill, Arch of Constantine uses a handful of major reliefs from former imperial monuments in its design. This created a stylistic contrast that depicts much of the city's history before the fourth century. The arch was erected in 315 AD and spans the Via Triumphalis, where the emperors of Rome entered the city in triumph. • This arch is next to the Colosseum and the Arch of Titus, so your time will be well-spent. This arch is magnificent, and has a history that is so very interesting. Must see

  • One of the many places in Rome that you can easily pass by without paying anything. The Arco di Constantino is placed right next to the Collosseum and while I were there, even a wedding took place and the couple was taking pictures in front of the Arc. In the proximity you will also find the Palatin Hill and the Foro Romano which you should rather pay a visit early in the morning instead of the afternoon, if you want to have enough time visiting all those beautiful places.
  • An arch with a history of controversial origin 'arched' over the years. Some say it was built by Hadrian and later reworked by Constantine, others say it was all Constantine. Suffice to say that the depicitions on it are more around random hunting/roman gods scenes than Constantine's war triumphs. From an architectural perspective, it's as great as the many other archs in Rome. In fact, just a few feet away there are two other archs. Free of charge to walk around it.
