Create an itinerary including Palazzo Pfanner
Nestled among sweet-smelling citrus trees, Palazzo Pfanner dates back to 1660, when it was commissioned by the Moriconi family, members of the merchant noble class. The palazzo's magnificent Baroque garden is not to be missed, with its copious flowers, forest plants, and 18th-century statues of Greek deities. At its center, you'll find an octagonal fountain and lemon house adorned with lions and a basilisk--the emblem of the Controni family, who took ownership of the palace in the late 1600s. After a stroll in the ancient bamboo cane, yew, and magnolia-shaded garden, head inside to see the 18th-century frescoes adorning the residence. You'll also find period furnishings, sacred objects, and a 14th-century statue of Archangel Michael. Don't miss the exhibit of ancient medical instruments and texts that belonged to Dr. Pietro Pfanner around the turn of the century. • Beautiful gardens. We ended our tour here with a little picnic. Great place to relax.
  • I enjoy the place as it has a beautiful garden. The house itself is nothing special. However the views from the house are magnificent. It is also not expensive. I think it’s worth visiting.
