The highest point on the island of Capri, Monte Solaro is topped with two significant structures. A statue of Emperor Augustus, the man who first landed on the Capri, depicts a very muscular emperor and is affixed to the side of the mountaintop. The Fortino di Bruto was used as a blockhouse in battles between France and Britain in the 19th century. To reach the summit, use either the Passetiello nature trail or the path that begins at Axel Munthe. Plan to wear lightweight clothing and sturdy walking shoes. The views were amazing. This was a wonderful experience. Our 10-year-old with special needs did great on the chairlift all by himself.

Amazing views, perfect place for an aperol break (or beer/coffee/snack). There are also toilets on the top. Return ticket is 12 eur per person, please check working hours.
