Create an itinerary including Bet Guvrin-Maresha National Park
Take a tour of the World Heritage Site of Bet Guvrin-Maresha National Park, a vast archaeological complex that contains the remains of two ancient cities. One of the cities, Maresha, dates back to the eighth-century BCE kingdom of Judah, while Beit Guvrin, then known as Eleutheropolis, was inhabited in the Roman and Byzantine periods. Discover thousands of bell-shaped subterranean caves that dot the hills of the historic site, forming a labyrinthine network of quarries, baths, hideaways, storage facilities, and even burial grounds. Apart from the caverns, you can also visit the remains of a Roman amphitheater, and a church that was rebuilt by 12th-century crusaders. Make Bet Guvrin-Maresha National Park part of your personalized Kiryat Gat itinerary using our Kiryat Gat visit planning tool.

  • Great place to visit during the spring. There are no shadows so keep in mind hats and other sun protections. Awesome wind and blossom It’s not trolley/wheel compatible tracks - only bell caverns are accessible for chair wheel or trolley. Will revisit it again definitely
  • Highly recommended, one of the best parks in Israel, especially during spring or autumn time when it's not too hot out there. Don't miss the maze and bell caves (the other caves worth a visit as well), the beautiful flowers and views or just a nice picnic at one of the many shaded areas.
