Create an itinerary including Dasaswamedh Ghat
At Dasaswamedh Ghat, see how locals gather at their most sacred river to perform religious rituals and appease their gods. This main ghat rests close to Vishwanath temple, where many Hindu legends came to existence. Learn from the locals as they preach that Lord Brahma created this site to welcome Lord Shiva; some devotees believe that Brahma sacrificed 10 horses here to prove his sovereignty. As you roam this area, notice the observatory overlooking the river, which was built in 1737. Feel free to take part in religious festivals, but watch out for the fire during the daily Agni Pooja (worship of fire) ritual. • A city that has stayed in place and watched as the world has turned and the tides have changed. city that has stood the test of time for thousands of years. In the words of Mark Twain, "Older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, And looks twice as old as all of them put together." Varanasi, the city that is more than just the spiritual capital of India. The city which can be aptly described as a melting pot where both life and death come together. The city that you only need to visit once for it to stay with you forever.
  • The most well maintained and cleanest ghat amongst all ghats in Varanasi. This is the most prominent ghat and a tourist planning to visit Varanasi must consider Dasaswamedh ghat as the first preference for stay. Although the roads and lanes are too narrow for a vehicle to enter for dropping or picking up. But the main road is at a walkable distance only and can be managed by one and all provided there isn’t any health issues or physical disabilities. All pick up and drop facilities are available from the main road only.
