Thommankuthu is a very scenic waterfall near Thodupuzha, in the southern state of Kerala, India and is named after the great hunter, Mr. Thommachen Kuruvinakunnel, who let the world know of this beautiful waterfall in the jungle in the late 1920s. Thommachen also played a big part in the discovery of the site for the Idukki Dam. This panchayat, belonging to Thodupuzha Thaluk in Idukki District, is one of the major eco-tourism centres in Kerala. A song of the Malayalam movie Chattakaari was shot here.
Thommankuthu is located 18 km from Thodupuzha. Nearest towns are Karimannor and Vannappuram and Udumbannoor which are nearly 10 km from Thommankuthu.
Thommankuthu waterfall is a seven - step waterfall located in forest. A trek of 12 km through the forests is possible.

Very few water comes through the falls,This falls located opening time 8:00am clock to 5:30pm. Only 30 minutes trekking easily and safe! One person 40 rupees for visiting the falls.very terrific tree in there forest.

Wonderful place with a calm and cool atmosphere. Explore the beauty of nature with the heavenly clean water. There are enough staffs to help and direct and they maintain the whole area without any garbage. There is a washroom and dress changing room which will be helpful for women who want to explore waterfalls.
