Stroll the slopes and terraces of Government Botanical Garden, and enjoy the extensive collection of both local and exotic plants and trees. Established in 1848, the gardens sprawl across the hillocks of Doddabetta Mountain and thrive in the high-altitude area’s temperate climate. Roam the peaceful, well manicured trails and admire more than 650 different species of trees, ferns, and colorful flowers. See the only cork tree in India, as well as the rare monkey puzzle and paperbark trees. • Not maintained well. Looked filthy at places. There were no flowers at all. Public bathrooms were dirty. Totally UNATTRACTIVE and a waste of our time and money

  • Face mask is mandatory, no entry without that. The garden is good and vast. Tea, coffee are available inside the premises. There is a small shop that sells tea powder, oils etc which says it’s from govt forest department. It was raining when we visited during 1st week of July. Overall a good experience and can explore variety of plants flowers and huge old trees. It took almost 2 hrs to complete the tour.
  • Best time to visit here is during spring when the flowers are in full bloom and lush greenery. If you come in the Winter season (December/ January) there is nothing much to see. Because during the winter season they start to plant flowers so you can't enter to the grassland. The entry ticket for adults is ₹50 and ₹30 for children. They charge around ₹80 for four wheeler parking. The garden is good and vast. The place is huge with greenhouse, sculptures trees, bushes and shrubs. It has variety of rare plants and flowers all well preserved.Overall a good experience and can explore variety of plants flowers and huge old trees.Best place to visit with family and friends.
