Create an itinerary including Kodachadri
Trek at Kodachadri, a mountain peak with dense woods, which is ranked as the 10th highest peak of Karnataka. Hike at an elevation of 1.343 m (4.406 ft) above sea level, as the trek offers a trip through the mixture of dense greenery, high waterfalls, cliff-drops, and views of the Arabian Sea. One of the main reasons people climb this peak is the unforgettable sights of sunrise and sunset. Spot some of the rare fauna the peak offers--langurs, hornbills, and elephants, among others. See also a small temple near the peak, as well as an iron pillar, which reminds of excellent ironworking skills of ancient Indians. • Awesome place to trekking and relaxation. The place is quite dangerous during rainy season. Avoid trekking while raining and thunder
  • Things to keep in mind: 1. Jeeps will only be available between Kollur and Kudachathri 2. For up and down, each person must pay 470 rupees (400 for the jeep and 70 for the forest tax) if you are going by sharing or 3200 rupees for a jeep , inspite of number of people 3. There is a forest checkpoint where each person must deposit 70 rupees. 4. You must pay a caution deposit of 100 rupees at the checkpoint for any plastic bottles you bring with you; if you show the bottles back on the way back, you will be reimbursed. 5. The last ten kilometres in the jeep are off-road. 6. Normal people can cover the uphill in around 1.5 hours by trekking around 2 km. 7. Going downhill It will just take 30 to 45 minutes. 8. There will be no place to eat or drink at the top, so bring your own. 5. There was once a small cave called Chithramoola, but it is now closed. 9. There is a Shankaracharya temple at the top where you can relax. 10. There are no washrooms along the way, which makes it difficult for women, and the one washroom available at the jeep parking area is in poor condition. It is a pleasant trek for beginners, and people of all ages can enjoy the scenic vistas. We had done trekking on 16/05/22
