Now deserted, The Beatles Ashram rose to fame thanks to the Fab Four's efforts to draw closer to Indian culture and spirituality. The ashram was known as an academy for meditation, with all of the now-abandoned stone bungalows once fully equipped with running water and electricity. Today, graffiti influenced by the band covers the abandoned buildings, with fans from the world over paying homage to this significant stepping stone in the career of The Beatles. Firstly just some general tips: To get to the Ashram, if you have your own vehicle or a 4 wheeler you can go directly from the Bairaj Dam, otherwise an alternative is to take any means of transport...

Pretty place, I would expect them to maintain this a bit better given the entry fee charges. The natural trails are beautiful and you are pretty much on your own to explore the entire place and read up on stuff. But the caves and buildings are getting pretty old and definitely need to be maintained before we lose these marvelous structures

Totally worth it if you are in Rishikesh and if you are a hardcore Beatles fan! To think that they have been to this place, spent their time writing their amazing songs here! Just thinking that gave me such peaceful thoughts. The place is calming and soothing. Quiet if there are no kids/ families around you. Good for a walk. I think 150 bucks for Beatles fan is worth it to get inside this place. At one corner you can also see the river flowing below you so it has a good view as well. It mostly closes by 4 so plan accordingly.
