Only 2 or 3kms from Ramanatha Swamy temple. Much less crowded and peaceful and yes relaxing. It is on a small hill and you get a great view of the island including the temple at a distance.

Ramar Patham is a historical significant place where Lord Rama and his army were resting and planning their journey to Sri Lanka. This place is also mentioned in the great Ramayana. And it's also the same place where Lord Hanuman took a long leap towards Sri Lanka from this hill in search of Goddess Sita. Situated just few kilometres away from Rameswaram town. You can find the footprints of Lord Rama inside the temple. No need of any entry tickets. Parking space is available. Temple opens by 7 AM, will be remained opened till 6 in evening. Road to this place is narrow. Hence, advised to use cars or travellers.

Quaint temple with legendary claims for having the imprints of Lord Ram on stones. I do not know whether they are actually the footprints of Rama himself: but for sure ,it looks like a very ancient place. Photography inside the temple is not allowed but the surrounding views are stunning with a Doordarshan tower looming above. The roads to this place are quite narrow & this temple is surprisingly derelict for claims of such historical significance. I guess apathy of the govts has a large role to play.
