See a moving memorial to the father of the nation at Raj Ghat. Situated at the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, the memorial consists of a stone footpath that leads visitors through well-maintained lawns to a walled enclosure. In the enclosure sits a black marble platform, exposed to the elements and with an eternal flame burning at one end. Take off your footwear before entering the enclosure to pay your respects to the leader of the Indian independence movement. Put Raj Ghat and other New Delhi attractions into our New Delhi sightseeing planning tool, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • There is a black marble platform which marks the final resting place of Mahatma Gandhi and there is an eternal flame. The area is very clean and well maintained, lots of greenery around.
