One of the largest mosques in India, Jama Masjid can accommodate up to 25,000 people at any given time. Built in the 17th century by Shah Jahan, the same Mughal emperor responsible for the Taj Mahal, the ornate mosque boasts three majestic gates, four towers, and two 40 m (131.2 ft) red sandstone and white marble minarets. While the entrance into the mosque is free, visitors must pay a camera fee and remove their shoes at the gate. Women are also required to wear a shawl, regardless of the rest of their attire. • The Mosque is really beautiful. It was built during Mughal regime. So you can be introduced with the architecture of that time. I have visited there twice quite a long ago. A lots of people everyday go there to pray and to visit this beautiful mosque. You can also taste the foods and desserts from the restaurants opposite to the mosque which are famous for their tastes.
  • We visited the beautiful Jama Masjid, which is the largest mosque in India. It is located in the heart of Old Delhi and represents the reveals the splendor of the Mughal dynasty.🥰 We were impressed by this beautiful red sandstone and white marble monument with its two 40 meter high minarets and bulbous domes. From the esplanade, we saw a large courtyard with basins where the faithfuls do their ablution before praying 🙇🙏 To visit the mosque, we had to take off shoes, cover our arms/legs and respect the silence. A sumptuous and dazzling mosque 🕌
