Create an itinerary including Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
Enter the realm of the world’s largest population of grizzled giant squirrels and mugger crocodiles at Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, a thorn scrub and sandalwood forest sheltering over 200 species of wild animals, including rare white bison, otherwise known as albino gaur. The mixed deciduous forests with high shola trees provide excellent trekking opportunities, with numerous observation decks allowing you to observe elephants, gaurs, spotted deer, and grey langurs. You can also take a jungle safari to explore the sanctuary in comfort. Stay in Vasiyappara ethnic huts, or even Koottar treetop houses near swamps to enjoy good views of the area. • Walk safari in Chinnar forest was adventurous. we had a 3 hours walk in the forest to reach Thoovanam water fall. We did not spot any wild life except monkeys but the experience was awesome.

  • This was the first time we traveled this route. Luckily the weather is very favorable. Deer, peacocks and monkeys could be seen. The road was narrow but it's in very good condition so the journey was comfortable. The journey through the forest is always mind-blowing . You have to take relevant documents and pass for hustle free travelling. And please cross the border before 6 pm
  • You can travel through the middle of forest with a lot of wild animals. But unfortunately I couldn't able to see any other animals except monkey 🐵. I think we have to select evening time to travel through this place to see the animals. But I it was an amazing experience to travel through the deep forest. The road is good even though the width is shorter
