Create an itinerary including Attukal Waterfalls
Take a trip to Attukal Waterfalls and have a picnic by the rushing cascades. Located 9 km (5.5 mi) away from the hill station, the waterfalls offer an idyllic spot for relaxation, hiking, and photography. Drive up the waterfall area to see the cascade from afar, or trek downhill to the natural basin to cool off and have a dip in the chilly water. During drier weather the falls still make a picturesque place, but they appear in full glory during the monsoon season (June through August), when they roar thunderously down the rough slope of the lush green hills. • A great waterfall, one that you can witness from the road. We were off to somewhere else when we got a glimpse of this majestic waterfall and took a U-turn. The road to the falls is narrow but driveable and you catch regular glimpses of the falls in between. However, there is no viewpoint for the falls that you see from the road. Once you reach the bottom, you will get to a narrow bridge from where you can take pictures. There is also a small tea stall nearby which offers a view of the other part of the waterfall and is great if you visit during the rainy season. I wish the waterfall had a viewpoint for the other part of the waterfall, the one that you see from the road.
  • Beautiful fall. The water force was so hard that even if you standing at distance. You will still get wet. When standing on the bridge. The only problem is the road. Very bad condition road and also very narrow. New car drivers be aware of thr terrain. Bikes can go easily
