An exploration of Shore Temple, a World Heritage Site, allows you to see how a historic trade junction became a place of worship. As you approach this 8th-century temple, notice how the site's outdoor pavilions were carved in granite rock. Dravidian architecture at its best, the shrine serves as both a popular tourist attraction and a major pilgrimage site, known for its many elaborate sculptures depicting various Hindu deities. • Shore temple built in 700 bc is one of the UNESCO world heritage site . The temple and it's compound sit in the backdrop of the bay of Bengal which offers a picturesque view to it. It's absolutely stunning. The temple is a rock cut temple have 2 shrines dedicated to lord Shiva and one 1 to lord Vishnu. The whole area is very well maintained and has beautiful gardens. The sea shore is very clean and the view of temple with sea behind is amazing. There are lot of places to take breathtaking photos. The temple also has electric vehicles to ferry old people. The parking area is also big enough. The ticket cost is 40 rs
  • This temple is stunning and located near the sea shore. The ancient architecture and the sea view compliment each other so well. This temple has a marvelous architecture. This is a UNESCO Heritage site, and maintained very nicely. The sea beach also very clean and well maintained. Enough parking space available but bit crowded during weekends.
