Regular maintenance work often causes parts of the protected monument to close to the public. The main cave was interesting, didn't realise that there was only two caves to see. Felt that the 300r entrance fee was a bit steep. Better to visit Ajanta and Ellora, far better.

Caves hold rich history. Ticket is very cheap. 25rs for Indians and foreigners it is 300rs. If carrying camera then it is 25rs. Statues are not that well maintained or cleaned or preserved. Better care can be taken after looking at the crowd that it attracts.

These caves, some of which are over 2200 years old, are also home to the temple of the goddess Ekvira, making them a sacred and historically significant destination.The trek to the caves starting from the ground is enjoyable and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, but for those who prefer a more leisurely experience, car parking is available and cars can also drive up to the caves. Overall, the Karla Caves are a must-visit destination for history buffs, culture enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The combination of history and natural beauty makes it a unique and special place.
