Donkey Sanctuary, Leh

#11 of 15 in Wildlife in Leh
Wildlife Area · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Donkey Sanctuary provides a home to neglected or injured stray donkeys. Joanne Lefson, a South African journalist, and Stany Wangchuk, the owner of a travel company, founded the animal shelter in 2008. Joanne, who is also a cartoonist, created the colorful signposts scattered all over the place. The funny drawings of winking and waving donkeys complemented by moving statements make a nice background for the photos you might like to take with your new friends.
