Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary is the country's largest wildlife sanctuary. Established in 1972 on approximately 5,000 sq km (1,930 sq mi) of salt flats, the sanctuary is most popular in October and November, when you can spot foals grazing and playing in the fresh grasslands. A jeep or minibus safari is the most common way to tour the sanctuary. Keep an eye opened for other wildlife also, such as jackals, wolves, desert foxes, and antelopes.
