Thiruvalluvar Statue depicts the Tamil poet and philosopher Tiruvalluvar, the famous author of Thirukkural, a classic Tamil sangam literary work featuring over 1,000 couplets. The 40.6 m (133 ft) tall stone statue sits upon a pedestal, with the total weight of the structure reaching 7,000 tons. Take notice of the slight bend in the figure's waist, reminiscent of the dancing poses of Indian deities. This attraction sits alone on a small island rock just off the Kanyakumari coastline, accessible by ferry. Quickly create a custom-made itinerary for Kanyakumari using our trip planner.

Monumental, 40m-high statue and pedestal, of eminent Tamil poet and philosopher, on a small island. The statue with 95' and the pedestal supporting it with 38ft, the structure is thus a standing mammoth commanding a total height of 133ft. An artistic peripheral wall around the statue, thereby forms a captivating mandap. THE MEASURES WHAT THEY STAND FOR? The pedestal represents the 38 chapters on "Virtue" and the 95' statue standing on the pedestal represents "Wealth" and "Pleasure" signifying that Wealth and Love be earned and enjoyed on the foundation of Virtue solid. But visiting was restricted on my journey
