Trek through thick forest to reach Thirunelli Temple, an ancient, isolated site sitting at 900 m (3,000 ft) above sea level. The route to the temple winds through a wildlife sanctuary with plenty of opportunities to spot the local residents. Small streams, ponds, waterfalls, and an old stone aqueduct pulling in water from a nearby spring contribute to the harmonious nature of the temple's surroundings. The pilgrimage site, dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu, is believed to be more than 1,000 years old, with remains of ancient villages uncovered in the nearby forests. • One of the most beautiful temples in Kerala. The route to this place is extremely blessed with natural beauty. If you are lucky, you may spot some wild animals as well. However, it is not safe to ride through those roads late at night or during early morning. We saw an elephant so close to the road at around 9 pm NB: Please confirm that the temple is open due to covid related restrictions.
  • Very calm and peaceful place no rush was there during weekdays. Stayed in rooms provided by temple authorities just near the temple itself. Room included a bed bathroom attached and a table no other amenities for rs. 500 for a single room. They also provide you hot water if needed. There are hotels and shops nearby the temple. The temple is under renovation work but you can visit anyway.
