Create an itinerary including Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park
Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park represents part of an attempt to restore the city's ecology and plants native to rocky environments. Volcanic rock surrounds the area where a thorny weed shrub, baavlia, once wreaked environmental havoc; after years of efforts by the Khandwaliya miners, the weed-free park now opens its doors to all visitors. See the collection of native plants adapted to arid areas of the Thar Desert, and visit the nursery to learn about techniques used to grow plant life in such difficult terrains. Careful not to walk off the designated paths, so as to protect the fragile vegetation here. • The most under rated place in Jodhpur. It's beautiful and has different plants which are available. The narrow passages which are called elephant passages are quite beautiful. There are guides available who can walk through all the area. It's quite a long Trek which can take from 4-5 hours if you want to visit the full area. The guides are available on demand and you should visit in the morning. There are early entries around 8am in the morning along with a guide. They can show you multiple places where you can watch different birds. The sounds they make in the early morning are very good. Spend a half day over here and you won't regret it at all..!
  • Nice place to visit. We came early morning for a guided walk tour with Blue City Walks. There were no other people and it was very tranquil to walk along the elephant canal until the Padamsar Talab. I recommend to visit before the sun is high, otherwise it might get too hot. There are many steps along the way, so it's not wheelchair friendly. The pathways are quite clear of shrubs, however, especially if you're going in the afternoon expect some bugs it is part of the nature.
