Vaishno Devi Mandir, Jammu City

Must see · Religious Site · Tourist Spot
Visit Vaishno Devi Mandir, a temple perched in the Trikuta Mountains and dedicated to the Hindu mother goddess Mahalakshmi. Embark on a steep hike to reach the attraction, or alternatively hire a pony to ride to the temple in relative comfort. Once there, observe devotees as they worship and perform holy traditions, or speak to other visitors on pilgrimages. The temple also offers the opportunity to stay overnight in simple, clean rooms. Be sure to reserve your place in advance if you require a room or, for an adrenaline rush, take a helicopter ride near to the temple. • I had a wonderful visit to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple on 9th Mar 20 even though there was a very heavy rush. This time I returned from the New Tarakote Marg. Though it was a bit longer, I found this...  more »

  • Most sacred of the SRI Matha's astadasha shrines in India. Located on TheThrikuta mountains in deep cave near Jammu is perhaps the most well kept and most guarded one too for the well known reasons. Also the most visited shrines from the all corners of the globe. Enroute several related shrines are a must to be visited. Indian government has taken extraordinary steps to provide all amenities to pilgrims. A new railway line has been laid connected to the foothills making travel more easier and comfortable. Today the holy shrine is being readied for reopening shortly for pilgrims to have the darshan after the break due to Covid pandemic.
  • Nice place to visit. I would prefer to go here in winter because the snow spread allover around and it looks so adorable in snow.
