Create an itinerary including Gyuto Monastery
A notable institution of the Gelug Order, Gyuto Monastery serves as the center of learning for Tantric rituals, Tantric meditation, and Buddhist philosophy. Founded in 1474 by Jetsun Kunga Dhondup, a disciple of the first Dalai Lama, the monastery complex provides a home for over 500 practicing monks maintaining Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The buildings glow bold yellow, and stand in marvelous contrast to the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. Plan my trip to Dharamsala with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

  • It's a beautiful and peaceful place. The temple has got amazing architecture and the mountains at the back increases it beauty. Behind the temple is a ground which can be used for a good walk in the morning or evening. It's a good place to know the culture .
  • It is one of the most beautiful and scenic monasteries that i have visited! It is located on the outskirts of Dharamshala! The monastery is very peaceful and you will feel tranquility after coming here. The main temple is large and very beautiful. You can easily reach here by any vehicle. One of the must visit monasteries in Dharamshala!
