Traverse the cleverly engineered span of Coronation Bridge, a striking white and raspberry-red reinforced concrete structure. Supported by a single arch, the bridge crosses the Teesta River and connects the districts of Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. Commissioned to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937, it was completed in 1941, and affords sweeping views of the verdant valley and river below. Note the two lion statues at one entrance. Arrange your visit to Coronation Bridge and discover more family-friendly attractions in Darjeeling using our Darjeeling trip builder tool.
