  • Veerabadran swamy temple in Mylapore is one of the oldest temple. Veerabadrar is the angry form of lord Shiva and he is considered as guardian angel. This is one of rarest temple which is fully dedicated to lord veerabadrar. I think this the only temple where he is with ambal. Giving beettle garland to lord veerabhara on pouranami cures health problems and property related problem. It is believed it also removes obstacles for marriage. Every Tuesday abishegam and Pooja is done to durga devi in rahu kaalam. You can donate flower or milk or rose water for abishegam. Other special events are pradosham, vigasi visagam, panguni uthram, sashti vrtham and panguni urchavam Temple has separate sanctum for Lord veerabadrar Godess Abayambal. Lord Murugan with valli and devyani Lord virupaksheeswarar and visalakshi together. Lord sarbeshwaraar Lord Perumal Lord anjenaya Lord saneeswarar Lord kalabairvar Sri Siva durgaai Sri Vishnu dugai Lord dakshna moorthi Lord kalabairvar Navagraha gods. Maariyaman statue 5 ganesha statues are found in this temple. One is vilva vinayagar with Shiva linga called as vilava naathar along with vilva nayagi 2 under pupil tree.Pupil tree ganesha's are always considered as auspicious and power full. We can also find statue of varahi. Another speciality is serpant statues under pupil tree very powerful to worship. Three murugar statues. One with peackock Bala subramaniyan Another with vallli deivayanai. Another one pazhani aandavar. Do visit this temple and feel the divinity.
