    This temple was beileved to be devoped by valmiki while Sita has come down with heavy heart after seperating from Lord Rama. She had been worshipping siva and she gave birth for Lava and kusha. Both.....  more

    Very old Shiva Temple, with amazing Tale of Luv & Kush ( Son's of Rama), having prayed to the presiding deity Lord Kurungaleeshwar. Unique outside Mandap, having different deities carved in pillars. The most famous among them is deity. "Sarbeshwarar" Another uniqueness, here is the "Nandi" watching at the moolavar, is craved with a 'Nose hold', " Mukanaam kairu', which is common practice to control a Bull, by tying a rope through its nose. A beautiful brass encrusted Nandi is also seen.

    Divine and peaceful. Amidst the busy hustle bustle of Koyambedu, this temple is a calm yet majestic shrine of Lord Shiva. The depiction of 63 Nayanmars is beautiful. The walls are inscribed with ThiruThondar Thogai, which adds value to the prakarams. The goshala has a half dozen cows which are maintained well. In all, a must visit to see the Lord, who is a Swayambhu murthy!
