India’s second oldest museum, Government Museum showcases some of the most impressive historical artifacts in the world, displayed in 46 galleries on nearly 16,2 ac (6,5 ha) of land. See the collection of antique Roman artifacts which is said to be the largest outside Europe that testify of the immense Roman influence in the world. Other than that, there are also numerous other displays, separated by types, so you can choose which ones you’d like to see first--archaeology, sculptures, ancient paintings, old manuscripts, and many others. This museum could use many upgrades and some cleanup, painting or modernization, but it is so interesting and fantastic that it gets a “five” anyhow. I loved the historical sections, temple art...

Huge museum without not much big renovation or upgrades in recent years. Ample car and bike parking. If this was upgraded then Egmore museum will become hot tourist attraction spot in the city. Science park is very worst. You’ll feel like entering into 80’s or 90’s time period. Nice opportunity to visit British period building and see their architecture.

Good Museum for entertainment and knowledge purpose. In 5 building knowledge is vast. Kids likes most. Stone art is more . Small park for kid . Augmented reality video.. From Egmore Railway Station only 1.4 km distance. Only walkable distance. If you are going by auto they will ask 100 rupees. Inside book stall and public library also available
