Create an itinerary including Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace
Once the summer residence of Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan, Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace stands as a shining example of Indo-Islamic architecture built entirely of teak. As you wander the complex, keep an eye out for floral motifs embellished on the walls, a painting of the grand throne as imagined by Tipu Sultan, and the eastern and western balconies from which Tipu Sultan would conduct court. On the ground floor, browse the small museum depicting Tipu Sultan's achievements, featuring an exhibition of his clothes and crown displayed on silver and gold pedestals. Art lovers may also be interested in works by James Hunter, who sketched various landscapes of South India, displayed in the palace. • Palace is , indeed, historical. However it is in pretty bad shape. Most of the woodwork and original colors are gone. Upper floor closed to public.

  • This iconic palace is embedded in rich history & culture. It's a reminiscence of the glorious past of Karnataka. Here, you can see the place where the great Tipu Sultan used to reside. It is considered to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in the beautiful Garden City of Bangalore. Even though it's not a huge palace in terms of area, but it's definitely a nice place to visit, especially for the connoisseurs of rich Indian history. Recommended.👍🏻
  • Historic landmark in Bangalore!!! COVID has played a spoil sport in visiting the place.
