Visit the memorial garden of Jallianwala Bagh, a public park that houses the monument to the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, when British forces opened fire on unarmed civilians celebrating the Punjabi new year. The memorial was established in 1951 by the Indian government, to serve as a somber reminder of the tragedy in which an estimated 1,000 people lost their lives. You can still view numerous bullet marks on the preserved walls of the site, a reminder that a number of people also drowned while trying to escape the bullets. With our custom trip planner, Amritsar attractions like Jallianwala Bagh can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • A must visit site for young Indians to experience our history. This is just one example of how was it to be a slave nation. A very thoughtful recent renovation adds to experience . Laser shows are playing continuously with sound effects in different galleries. This makes tremendous real life like impact. Visiting this place provides a sense of understanding of the lack of escape route for those who gathered on that fateful day. The place is well maintained. Must visit.
  • Firstly I visited in 2010. And after then, i visited this place in 2022. I saw some changes which I want to share with you all. Now, Renovation has been done to save the originality but without renovation things look more realistic. It's just my opinion. Overall this is a great place to visit. I recommend this place to everyone who is an Indian.
