    The Basilica can be seen from afar and dominates the vollage of Niederalteich. It is richly decorated and very light and airy for such an old church... Abbot J Hamberger built the baroque monastery...

    Wonderful basilica and monastery. Opposite the basilica, a hidden little cozy cafe offers food and drink. Afterwards, walk to the beautiful Danube bank, where a small passenger ferry will take you to the other side!

    The baroque basilica with all its splendor is always worth a visit and on closer inspection, there are always new wonderful details to discover. We regularly take our non-local friends and private visitors to this extraordinary basilica. This also includes a visit to the Byzantine St. Nicholas Church with its magnificent icons in the former brewhouse of the monastery brewery. After the cultural part, the end of the excursion in the beer garden in the monastery courtyard is also highly recommended
