Get a close look at the impressive Late Baroque architecture and intricate detailing of Asamkirche. The tiny church was constructed as a private chapel in the mid-18th century. It features a beautiful main sanctuary of floor-to-ceiling frescoes and ornate Baroque decor. Note the magnificent wax statue of St. Johann Nepomuk in the pillar-enclosed high altar. Look up to see "Life of Saint Neopmuk," the ceiling fresco by Cosmas Daminan Asam. Next door to the church, you can stop by the Asam House to see its South German rococo stucco exterior and ornamentation. The Asam brothers acquired it in 1733. • An extremely impressive church. No need to explain what rococo is like - all we had to do is walk in, and we felt it. Important to check opening hours, at 12 / noon we were asked to leave

  • I recently attended an organ concert here that started at 8:00 p.m. and lasted about one and a half hours. It was grand. The organist is a master, the cost is €10. The acoustics in this church are excellent. The church itself is a combination of baroque with rococo elements, very exquisite decor. • When you walk in the old city of Munich, you find this little church. Even though it is not a big building, it has an amazing interior design. When you enter the door, i suggest to look up to the ceiling. Then the amazing altar and lots of art pieces are just in front of you.
