Create an itinerary including Schloss Moritzburg
A Baroque castle, Schloss Moritzburg served as a hunting lodge to Saxony's Elector Frederick Augustus I in the 18th century. Explore inside for a sense of the splendor of Saxon court life. Admire the collection of carriages on display in the entrance hall, as well as the opulent decor of several open rooms. Many of the furnishings are themed around hunting, such as a room covered in antlers and a feather room. Fans of the "Three Nuts for Cinderella" movie may recognize the castle as the setting for some of its scenes. Guided tours and audio guides are available. • Viewed from across the lake it is impressive but up close it was one of the shabbier palaces I’ve seen. No manicured gardens or grounds. Just a big hunting lodge on the island in the lake.

  • A beautiful castle surrounded by water. The gardens are pretty and calm for taking walks or even having a picnic. There are really good food places and souvenir shops around it.
  • Today we visited this beautiful Castle that luckily wasn’t destroyed during the ll World war. The outside is stunning but wait till you visit the inside! When you visit Dresden you should also take the time to visit this romantic place!
