The Newcomer Show is Germany’s most prestigious variety festival. Every year in early July, the directors and agents of the leading variety theaters meet in Leipzig to discover new acts and make new contracts. Many well-known acts had their first performance in Leipzig.

There is no age limit to participate. The most significant criterion is that the artists have not performed before in a German variety theater before.

It is primarily graduates of prominent circus schools from Montréal, Brussels, and Stockholm who will be competing over four evenings to sway an audience of experts and high-profile juries in the hope of winning one of the highly coveted trophies.

The Newcomer Show is a real springboard for a professional career on stage.
