The trek is really scenic and beautiful with a view of both Kochelsee and Walchensee. The starting point by both foot and cable are reachable via public transport and covered in the Bayernland ticket 👍👍 Overall a great trek. Definitely not beginner level. Hiking or snow shoes (depending on the season) and a stick are practically a must

I was surprised how beautiful the color of the lakes are. Emerald blue color is so mesmerizing. We found this place accidentally while we are visiting Munich. It’s only 1 hour drive away from there. And completely different scenery and atmosphere. I can highly recommend one day trip which can be included when you are visiting Munich.
