Don't miss a chance to see some of the most important archeological finds of the past century at Landesmuseum fuer Vorgeschichte Halle, featuring exhibits designed to engage and intrigue visitors of all ages. Founded in 1825, the museum contains a collection of nearly 15 million items. The most notable exhibit is the world-famous Nebra sky disk, the world's oldest concrete depiction of cosmic phenomena, which dates to about 1600 BCE. The bronze disk's inlaid symbols are generally interpreted as a sun or full moon, a lunar crescent, and stars. • Beautiful museum with a lot of interesting exhibits. I particularly enjoyed the day & year timelines for neolithic community with the connection to the shaman. The audioguide is very well done and gives you additional information even beyond the text written on the information plaques. You can actually download the app to your smartphone prior to coming there, which is what I would recommend. One note - the app uses the language of the phone and does not offer the choice which language to use.
  • Great experience. A typical traditional museum where the visitor is a passive observer. The only thing personal in Museum have to think about is the fact that some visitors are not German speakers and that it would be great to put English language notes under the exhibits. Suggestion for the first time visitors: start with top flour of the Museum.
