  • A beautiful memorial for the good Christoph. The seated depiction of the deeply religious writer finds its roots in the family home, which was shaped by the civil service for the Teutonic Order. I was also employed in the public service and followed the example of the "von Schmid" family by supporting my children in the fields of theology and philosophy. Unfortunately, the boys went their own way and now work as tax consultants and landscape gardeners. So be it. At Christmas we still sing the songs of Christoph. Happy Holidays! :-)
  • 15 Ağustos 1768'de Dinkelsbühl'de doğan ve Augsburg'da Schmid şövalyesi olarak çok yaşlı ölen ilahiyatçı ve genç yazar ... Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schmid was born on August 15, 1768 in Dinkelsbühl and died in 1854 at the advanced age of 86 years from the effects of cholera. He studied theology, was a Roman Catholic priest and a writer of hymns and children's books. One of the most well-known songs is the Christmas carol "Your little children are coming". In 1827 he became canon in Augsburg and administrator of the school system. Schmid was raised to the nobility in 1837 by King Ludwig I of Bavaria.
