Very pretty monestary with nice surroundings! We visited the area by accident and liked it a lot. The whole place is ancient and you can find old gravestones, ruins, etc. The view of the lake...

Very well done historical site. Interactive and educational displays throughout. English as well. Be sure to walk outside the main area as well. Along the lake and the cemetery offer some great views.

What a stunning place. When you come late check if it’s still open. Great for taking walks and hiking. The Gothic Chorin Monastery is a former Cistercian abbey near the town of Chorin, about six kilometers north of Eberswalde in the Brandenburg district of Barnim. It was founded by Ascanian margraves in 1258 and had far-reaching importance on the northern edge of the Ascanian sphere of influence.
