St. Peter's Cathedral (St. Petri Dom), a Gothic cathedral, is one of the most iconic buildings of Bremen. Built in the 11th century, it has undergone a number of renovations and restorations over the centuries. Admire the grand architecture and look for hand-carved choir stalls from the 13th century. Descend into the crypt to see the lower portions of the walls and columns from the original building. The faint-hearted should skip the lead basement beneath the nave, which is home to eight mummies in glass-topped coffins. • Beautiful cathedral right at the Market Square. Beautiful architecture. Unfortunately it's not open to public during our time of visit.

  • Historical and beautiful. Mass was in German, and though I am not fluent, I could feel the message. St. Petri Dom is a sight to be seen. The Priest spoke with a way that invoked me to reflect upon my family and my life. It is truly a meaningful, beautiful, and historical place to worship.
  • It’s a very big and beautiful church. They don’t ask for anything in the entrance (like covid tests) It’s such a majestic building from the outside, and if you go to Bremen not only it’s a must see but you will most likely find it, since it’s close to the city center and the town hall and other buildings are also there.
