Stasimuseum offers a glimpse into the methods and workplaces of the old Stasi, East Germany's secret police. Formerly the home to one of the Cold War's most infamous institutions, these original headquarters reveal much about the old ideology. You can learn about the tactics used in spying and reconnaissance for more than 40 years. The site is a tribute now to the dissidents, nonconformists, and ordinary citizens whom the Stasi terrorized. Check the website for information regarding guided tours and special or temporary exhibits. • Really great Museum which is very well preserved. The Minister’s rooms are fascinating to see and the history of the events around this era are very well explained. There is a lot of text. I think the audioguide is probably a good idea because it’s very small and can be difficult to read when crowded.
  • This museum is one of the best I’ve ever visited. It gives a clear walkthrough of how the secret service operated and changed its methods over time. With cool, real spy photographs it was really entertaining. Anyone could really be a spy. The area was very cool since it all was in the old stasi headquarters. If you are in Berlin, this is well worth catching the U-bahn and travelling a little to the outskirts of the city for.
