Create an itinerary including Church of St. Ulrich and St. Afra
The sarcophagi of Saint Afra and Saint Ulrich rest in peace in Church of St. Ulrich and St. Afra. The foundations of the current churches are built on top of the remains of two houses of worship that may have dated back to the fifth and sixth centuries. Surprisingly, the architecture you'll admire was erected mainly after the 1970s, and the abbey's Gothic-looking structures with high aches are a recreation of the past. • A very historic and famous church in the beautiful city of Augsburg. The church received a beautiful altar wall with many statues including the Salvific Mysteries. Beneath the altar is a mausoleum, which is open to visitors. To the left of the altar is a chapel, and many ancient icons, some of ours covered with silver leaf. Got a beautiful piano. Always a lot of visitors and worth a visit.
  • 15th century church with roots dating back to 10th century is a mixture of Renaissance style with major Gothic architecture design. It's significant features are the red roof and the onion shape dome of bell tower. This inspired other churches in Bavaria to adopt the design. You must visit this church if you pass by Augsburg.
